Back before Devon Street, aka “Little India”, had taken root and become one of America’s most celebrated ethnic neighborhoods. We wanted to create a vegetarian restaurant that not only had excellent food, but brought vegetarian cooking to the masses. Fast forward 33 years later — Annapurna is Chicago’s oldest and most well-known Vegetarian restaurants.
So what is Annapurna? Its literal translation means “Perfect Food” – and reflects our commitment to excellence. Whether you are enjoying a delicious Samosa or drinking a mouthwatering Mango Lassi – you’ll find the same authentic flavor throughout our extensive menu.
As a family run establishment, we recognize that we could not have made it this far without our loyal customers.
Deep fried puffed pastry with spicy moong dal stuffing, topped with chickpeas, potatoes, yogurt, chutneys, garnished with cilantro and spices.
